Our Team
We are a group of public and self-educated lifelong learners who believe that learning is best achieved intrinsically, and never forced. We are guides rather than traditional teachers. Our lives are as complicated and busy as all peoples are these days. We make an effort to consistently be there at a given time and day in order to guide young lifelong learners on their paths with unschooling and self-directed education. No matter a family homeschooling ideology our guides will enhance the education and ease the responsibility of home education for young and old alike

Hello, I am the guide for virtual coding classes and all things computer. I assist with technology needs for SLL and I will be guiding a virtual coding/website building/ whatever the kids are interested in class in the fall. I have a bachelors degree from some fancy college in Portland in computer science and a bachelors degree in mathmatics from Evergreen. I have a non profit organization that is my passion by day and I am also a stay at home caregiver to an 8 year old homeschooler that I kinda like :).

I’m an unschooling mother of two simply because I am not willing to do what it would take to make my kids fit into a conventional school system. I love this opportunity to nourish their unique personalities, needs and interests and create an organic community with local families.
My two sons are “deep divers” and squeal every time they come to see their friends, then run around playing for hours on end. That’s how I knew it was a good fit!
I’ll be facilitating art and music opportunities for Sonder Life Learners. My mom was (still is!) an art teacher, and I cut my teeth in the west coast music scene as a live vocalist and sound engineer. I graduated from Cornish College of the Arts with a music degree, but my creative passion as of late is in ecstatic dance, which I facilitate weekly in my Soul Nutrition Community Dance. I love crafting, sewing, and playing with all sorts of materials.
When I’m not hanging around Sonder Life, I run a business coaching parents to build more connection and cooperation with their children.

Hi there! I'm the organizer, virtual health class guide and visionary here at Sonder Life Learners (SLL). My vision is about creating a community that is built on flexibility for every one involved, offer affordable enrichment classes guided by knowledgeable professionals. The homeschool community is full of very educated homeschool parents who are not looking to have a second income from teaching, but rather enjoy the process of life long learning through guiding the youths early learning journey. I moonlight as an ER nurse, locally here at Swedish Mill Creek ER.... but my true passion has always been learning.I enjoy spending time with children and believe that play is a vital part of the learning process.

Hi there! I am the guide for Latin hiking class. I enjoy learning more English while guiding the youth and their caregivers in bettering their understanding of my native language. Spanish. I was born and raised in Columbia, I've fallen in love with the Pacific Northwest and I want to spend more time in nature. That is one reason why our Nature/Hiking Spanish class is held outside. Being outside opens our minds to new learning and a new language. As a guide in our nature-based Spanish immersion course, I'm passionate about learning myself and I love using child led learning as my tools to learning and guiding. I find great joy in seeing the children learn and grow, and I'm always excited to explore new ways to make our language learning experience fun and engaging for everyone involved.

I am thrilled to be a guide for Sonder Life Learners because I truly believe in lifelong learning.
Formally trained as a Physical Therapist with a Doctorate degree, I know my way around a “classroom”. But after all those years in “traditional school”, I know it can be done differently- moving beyond memorization or rigid pre-set curriculum. I wish learning to be “student” lead with creativity & curiosity at the forefront without pressure to perform.
Even back to high school, I was involved in mentoring- from the Big Brothers Big Sisters program to being a TA (Teachers Assistant), guiding has been something I’m drawn to.
Fast forward to now, I have young kids and want to see them navigate learning in new ways. Naturally, that means Un-Schooling. We don’t want to do it alone, so being in community is a must!
I am looking forward to help shape a new way of learning!

Hello, I'm the guide for D&D. I am dedicated homeschool father of two who enjoys fostering creativity and imagination through play. Despite my full-time work schedule, I make time to guide children through the imaginative world of Dungeons and Dragons, a game that I grew up playing and have since become an experienced Dungeon Master for both adults and children.
