Inspired by John Koenig’s concept of “sonder”—the profound realization that each person has a unique, intricate inner world—Sonder Life Learners is a dynamic homeschool community founded on child-led learning, creative play, and holistic development.

Our journey began as a Facebook group, but we’ve since grown into a vibrant support network for homeschooling families seeking flexible, affordable learning opportunities that blend academics, play, and social engagement. We believe in empowering children to set meaningful goals and pursue their curiosity through a mix of educational approaches, from Waldorf-inspired seasonal learning to play-based, hands-on exploration.

Our classes are diverse and adapt to the changing interests of our learners. Over the years, we’ve offered a wide range of seasonal and thematic classes—from science, art, and literature to swimming, jiu-jitsu, and even Dungeons & Dragons. Each session is designed to engage children in a balanced, joyful learning experience that encourages exploration and creativity.

Our Montessori-inspired classroom in South Everett provides a nurturing environment, complete with a music studio, art room, garden, and kitchen. Here, learners can freely explore their interests, develop resilience, and grow in a space that fosters both community and individuality.
